The Supreme Court’s reaction to the Defence Colony Welfare Association (DCWA) encroachment on the Gumti of Shaikh Ali, a Lodi-era tomb in Delhi, is very positive and a badly needed intervention in the present communally super-saturated Indian socio-political milieu.

It would contribute a lot to maintaining peace and harmony in the country if the judiciary takes this stand on the recently developed trend of encroaching on the properties belonging to Muslims, both by the rulers and their slaves.
