In the recently concluded local urban body election in Kerala SDPI has shown a good performance by securing a total of 49 seats.

The winning of SDPI in the Local body election is proving the acceptance of people’s politics, said SDPI State President Adv. KM Ashraf.

SDPI Candidates covered the challenges of both the alliances, LDF & UDF and secured several seats of gram panchayat, municipalities and corporations across the state. SDPI secured one seat in Kollam Corporation, 9 Municipal seats and 39 grama panjayath ward seats in different districts. The party got 5 times growth in this election as it won 4 seats in the newly formed Municipality named Eeratupeta at Kottayam.
