The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) National President MK Faizy was arrested today by the Enforcement Directorate in New Delhi on flimsy allegations.
MK Faizy has been serving as the National President of SDPI for the past 6 years, and has been active in party activities including all major programmes organised by the party across the country. Connecting him with any other organisation is just an attempt to vilify him and the party, of which he is the leader.
SDPI, as a political party under the leadership of MK Faizy, is very active in the political arena of the country fighting for the Constitutional and lawful rights of the citizens, protection of the Constitution, preservation of democracy and secularism and against the fascist policies of the RSS driven BJP government at the centre.
The latest event that might have provoked the fascist rulers seems to be Waqf Protection Protests against the Waqf Amendment Bill and the mass conferences that were held across the country including the states like Kerala, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, etc. The rallies and the conferences were conspicuous by the huge crowd including women.
Faizi’s arrest is politically motivated and an effort to debilitate the party that despite the presence of many political parties in the country is growing at grassroots level in every nook and corner of the country. People who have realised about their rights have identified SDPI as the party that sincerely stand for their cause and right, and they are joining the party en masse.
No wonder, the growth of the party and its relentless fight against fascism and for the Constitution has become the thorn in the flesh of the fascists.
SDPI take strong exception to the politically motivated arrest of Faizy and demands his immediate and unconditional release, failing which the party will hold nationwide protests for his release.
