Supreme Court May Initiate Measures to Revise All Draconian Laws MK Faizy, National President of the Social Democratic Party of India requested the Supreme Court of India to initiate measures to revise all draconian laws like UPAPA and AFPSA also. He was responding to the stay order of the apex court on the colonial Sedition Law. The present fascist government is blatantly abusing all draconian laws such as the Sedition Law, UAPA, AFPSA, etc. to intimidate and incarcerate its opponents, and to stifle the dissenting voices. Many social and rights activists have been put behind the bar for the very reason they raising their voices against the undemocratic and fascist acts of the government. Faizy hoped that the Supreme Court order to keep in abeyance the more than one and half-century-old draconian Sedition Law enacted by the colonial Britishers to suppress the freedom movement will ease the bail proceedings of the activists who are serving inside the jails as undertrials for months and years, and end the abuse of the draconian laws to oppress the citizens.
