Arrest the Hindutva Leaders Who Called for Muslim Genocide in Haridwar and Delhi – Elyas Muhammed ThumbeElyas Muhammed Thumbe,

National General Secretary of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) strongly denounced the genocidal call against Muslims by extreme right wing Hindutva elements at the Dhrma Sansad in Haridwar, and at the Hindu Yuvavahini gathering in Delhi, the other day; and demanded the arrest and legal actions against the perpetrators of hatred in the name of religion.India is not a theological state. Indian population comprises umpteen diverse religious, cultural and social sects. These people in the country had been living in relatively harmonious social atmosphere till 2014, in spite of the persistent attempts of the Hindutva fascists to disrupt the social harmony through communal violence and riots in various parts of the country. There, of course, had been numerous communal violence initiated and executed by the extreme right Hindutva militants killing myriad of Muslims and destructing their properties. But they were not bold enough to call for genocide or riots in public, barring a very few incidents. The secular democratic political parties in the country, though not fully successful, were able to contain the riots and book the culprits to certain extent. But the ascension of the RSS driven NDA to power at the centre in 2014 had totally toppled the wafer-thin communal balance and harmony in the country. All the so-called fringe right wing Hindutva militants were let loose in the streets by the RSS government at the centre and in the states where they are in power. Any saffron-clad goon could engage in any atrocity scot-free, if it is against Muslims or Dalits and in the name of Ram. Sanghi governments didn’t bother to ensure peace in the country or to maintain law and order. The blatant and open call for genocide of Muslims in the country is the result of the confidence instilled in them by the current government. They are sure they wouldn’t face legal action, even if they bring their call into action. The communal polarisation, intentionally spread by the hatemongers in the country has deteriorated to its maximum. The event attended by BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay testifies that it was an event organised with the permission and knowledge of the authorities. The statement of Swami Prabodhanand Giri, president of the Hindu Raksha Sena, a right-wing organisation based out of Uttarakhand that “…every Hindu must pick up weapons and we will have to conduct this cleanliness drive (safai abhiyan)” is an obvious call for violence which is illegal, anti-Constitutional and one attracts criminal case. But the government is turning a blind eye towards this call for violence. Parallely, in Delhi at another gathering of the militant Hindutva group Yuva Vahini, the pet creation of Yogi Adityanath, rightwing rabble rouser Suresh Chavhanke gave a call to “fight, die and kill if required” to make India a “Hindu nation,” and the gathering took an oath to put this call into action. Both these communally venomous gatherings, statements and oath by the participants are clear indication of the right-wing Hindutva militants deteriorating and undermining the harmonious social texture of the country and their plan to execute ethnic cleansing. People have lost trust in the Hindutva governments. Strong people’s resistance is the only solution to end these type of communal polarisation efforts by the Hindutva militants. Peace and harmony will prevail, if and only if these racists are bridled. Elyas urged the democratic, secular people of the country to join hands to save the country by defeating these militants through people’s resistance.
