New Delhi, 26th May 2022: Faisal Izzudheen, the National Secretary of the Social Democratic Party of India urged the authorities to initiate adequate legal measures against the Savarna Hindutva extremists who carry out widespread violence in Andhra protesting the changing of name of Konaseema district as Dr Ambedkar district.

The rampant violence is stoked by the fascists for naming a district in a south Indian state with the name of the architect of the Indian Constitution. The inborn disposition of hushing up the news by the media when the Savarna Hindutva extremists burn the country is visible in this incident too.

The Savarna extremists have set ablaze the residence of P. Viswaroop in the Amalapuram city. Police vehicles on the Collectorate premises and public transport buses were also set on fire. 20 people including DySP Y. Madhav have sustained serious injuries. The Hindutva perpetrators have burnt the house of Andhra MLA Ponnada Satheesh in Konaseema.

The media are not properly covering these atrocities, because the aggressors are Savarnas. Even, naming a district with the name of the architect of the Constitution Dr Ambedkar is a sufficient reason to get attacked in the country. It has been a few days only since a mentally disoriented old man was lynched by the Sangh Parivar on the suspicion that he was a Muslim.

The collective conscience that turns mute against the brutal Savarna Hindutva atrocities like these needs to be identified, and the victims of the Hindutva extremism ought to be ready for a united movement against the anti-national Sangh Parivar atrocities, said Faisal Izzudheen.
