The FIR filed by the Himachal police against the BJP Haryana chief Mohan Lal Badoli and singer Rocky Mittal for the alleged gangrape of a woman from New Delhi is another example of the ‘naree-suraksha’ under the BJP rule.

The complainant woman alleged that the incident took place at the Ros Common Hotel operated by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation at Monkey Point Road in Kasauli. There she met two men along with her friend one of them identified himself as Mohan Lal Badoli, a senior politician, while the other identified himself as Rocky Mittal alias Jai Bhagwan, a singer.

She and her friend were taken to their room and offered her a govt. job and a chance to feature in a music video. They offered them alcohol which the woman and her friend refused. Then Badoli and Mittal forced them to drink and started raping her in turns threatening her with dire consequences if she disagreed.

The safety of women in Sangh Parivar-ruled India is at peril, and let us hope that the complainant doesn’t get booked for complaining against the BJP leader.
