SDPI Delegates Visited the family of Gulnaz KhatoonSDPI demands fast track court to punish the culprits immediatelyA Delegation of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) visited the bereaved family of Gulnaz Khatoon, who was burnt alive in Rasoolpur Village, Bihar. SDPI National Vice President Dhehlan Baqavi, National Gen. Secretary Abdul Majeed Mysore, National Secretary Dr. Mehboob Shareef Awad, National Secretariat Member Riyaz Farangipet, SDPI Bihar State President Nasim Akthar, SDPI Bihar State Gen. Secretary Engineer Ehsan Parvez and others were in the delegation. The leaders assured the mourning family all legal help and handed over compensation from the party. Gulnaz Khatoon, a 20 year old girl was burnt alive in a heinous crime by a local resident Satish Rai who sprinkled kerosene over her body and set her ablaze. . In a video statement to the police, Gulnaz said Satish Rai poured kerosene over her and set ablaze while she went to throw garbage at 6 pm. Satish Rai was harassing and pressurizing her for marriage. She categorically denied stating different religious backgrounds and requested him not to pester her. Victim’s mother Mainoona Khatoon said, on October 29, the accused had threatened to kill her and did so the very next day. In the context of this ghastly incident, Bihar CM Nithish Kumar asserted that “Bihar Ki Beti Surakshith Hai”. SDPI flays and challenges the CM Nithish Kumar if he is honest in his statement, then he has to issue a white paper on how many such incidents reported in his 15 years tenure and how many culprits were punished. SDPI delegation demands that a fast track court shall be appointed immediately by the Bihar government to investigate Gulnaz Khatoon murder incident and to punish the culprits within the year. SDPI also demand the Bihar Government to provide full security to the family of the victim and shall compensate Rs.50 lakhs to the bereaved mother of Gulnaz Khatoon as she lost her only young daughter who would be the pillar of her family.
