SDPI Condemns the move of Hubli Police who arrested today the organisers of protests against the negligence of central and state governments and demanding appropriate rehabilitation and compensation to the flood victims of Karnataka.

While condemning, Elyas Muhammad Thumbe, state president of SDPI said that the organisers have informed the police in writing about the protest program well in advance and obtained the acknowledgement. In spite of this the police arrested the organizers in the morning when the protesters commuting towards the venue. This act of police was nothing but denial of our constitutional rights.

He said, we can understand the political pressure, prejudice and vested interests behind this arrests without any reason. This kind of discrimination by the police are highly harmful for the democracy. Elyas Muhammad Thumbe said, SDPI will question this undemocratic and biased move of police through legal process.
