1. ABSTAIN FROM THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF IAS (CADRE) RULES 1954

This National Working Committee meeting expresses the concern over the union government’s endeavour to amend the IAS (cadre) rules, 1954. The proposed amendment tends to destroy the very structure of country’s federal polity and state autonomy. Instead of strengthening the federal spirit of the nation the prime minister and his coterie invoking dubious modes to create cleavage in federalism. If the amendments sought for is fructified, it would cause an irreparable injury and untold damage to the spirit of cooperative federalism that exists between the union and the states and resulting accumulation of power in union government.

Therefore, National Working Committee meeting of SDPI held on 25 & 26 January 2022 in Mumbai call upon the union government to abstain from the proposed amendment of IAS (cadre) rules 1954.

  • BOOK CULPRIT UNDER STRINGENT PROVISION FOR HATE SPEECH

The National Working Committee urges union and state governments to pursue stringent action against those responsible for the Dharam Sansad’s vitriolic speeches and their call for violence against Muslim community. The inflammatory and vituperative speeches affected the social fabric of the nation besides the cleavage crept in unity and integrity of our nation. The repercussion of the obnoxious utterance reflects the consequent mob lynching and apparent atrocities against minorities across the nation. The speeches virtually come under the domain and definition of terrorist act contemplated under section 15 of the unlawful activities prevention act (UAPA). If prominent lawyers and innumerable citizens wrought to Supreme Court and the authority concerned to initiate strict action against the culprits. Mere registration of lesser provisions under the Indian Penal code is not sufficient to combat such nefarious speeches.

Therefore, the NWC meeting of SDPI held on 25& 26 January 2022 in Mumbai call upon the authority concerned to book the culprits and the persons behind the veil under the stringent provision of criminal law.

The National Working Committee meeting was presided by the SDPI National President M.K. Faizy wherein National Office Bearers, members of NWC and state presidents were present.

  • CONDUCT CASTE CENSUS TO UPLIFT THE DOWNTRODDEN AND DEPRIVED SECTIONS.

The data of wealth distribution in India is a matter of serious concern as it depicts an unfair conclusion that the class-based inequality and injustice is on the rise.  The upper castes are enjoying the wealth, power and development and the others are deprived from benefits and development in the country.  The government has to pursue a comprehensive Cast Census to know the socio-economic state of the people in the country to deliver the fruits of development and premium standard of life. However, the regimes, so far have not taken any initiative to conduct this due to its vested interests. If the Government conducts the Caste Census, the clear depiction of status of every castes and communities will be ascertained which will enlighten as how can it uplift these downtrodden and deprived sections and accordingly, the reservations in the employment and education sector can be given to those marginal sections.

Therefore, the National Working Committee meeting of SDPI held on 25& 26 January 2022 in Mumbai demands the Union Government to conduct the Caste Census in the country.
