Gujarat Becomes the Paradise of Fakes

The police in Surat have busted a two-decade-old fake medical degree racket and have arrested 14 individuals for selling fraudulent Bachelor of Electro Homeopathic Medicine degrees for Rs. 75,000 each. They are reported to have issued the degrees to at least 1,500 people amassing over Rs. 10 crores. In another case, The Gujarat Police arrested 12 people for impersonating Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials and conducting a fake raid at a jeweller’s home and shop in Gandhidham, Kutch. The group reportedly stole gold, silver, and cash worth Rs 22.25 lakh during the operation.Gujrat, the hub of drug smuggling adds another feather “the wholesale dealer of ‘fakes,’” on its cap.
