Delhi Police Questioning Srinivas BV is Nothing but Political Vendetta – SDPI

Social Democratic Party of India National General Secretary KH Abdul Majeed took strong exception to Delhi Police questioning Indian Youth Congress President Srinivas BV for his Covid19 pandemic relief activities in Delhi. Srinivas has been actively involved in providing medical support to the ailing Covid victims; and even the foreign diplomatic officials used to seek his help in this regard. The police measure, which is explained to be in pursuance of a court order, is highly wanton, ridiculous, senseless and contemptible, stated Abdul Majeed.

In an absolutely hapless and grim situation that the government has pathetically failed in providing healthcare facilities to the citizens suffering from the disastrous Covid pandemic, everybody with a humanitarian touch is in the field to provide support to the Covid patients across the country; and Srinivas BV too has been in this exercise of providing oxygen and medical support to the suffering victims of Covid pandemic. The sangh parivar that has been founded on bigotry and hatred has always been against any humanitarian activity. Dr Kafeel Khan too had faced the same fate in UP for him helping to avail oxygen for dying infants. Reputation of the nation has dipped globally due to its absolute failure in effectively containing the pandemic. Questioning of the IYC leader is a face-saving exercise by the government to cover up its failure.

The so-called court order is “to examine instances of politicians allegedly procuring and distributing Remdesivir here and take steps for lodging of FIR in case of offence.” All the accused in cases registered so far in connection with Remdesivir scam are linked to sangh parivar, and instead of questioning the sangh parivar leaders, questioning a social worker politician who has been transparently helping the needy is nothing but an act of political vendetta, and it is highly condemnable, said Abdul Majeed.

Social Democratic Party of India disapproves the Delhi Police highhandedness and offers unconditional support to Srinivas in all his humanitarian activities, said Abdul Majeed.
