Ajmer Dargah – Petition Claiming it as a Shiv Temple is Part of a Vicious Divisive Plot

The news of a lower court accepting a petition claiming the Ajmer Dargha is a Shiv Temple, wouldn’t surprise anyone in contemporary India. Orders to dig out the underground of ancient Muslim masjids and historical monuments are being issued by some courts indiscriminately. The Dargah, irrespective of its religious brand, is a congregational spot of various faiths. It is this harmony of different faiths at the Dargah that has been irritating the Sangh Parivar. They have been uneasy about this harmonious atmosphere there and have made attempts to disrupt it. As per the confession of Swami Aseemanand, the accused in the blast, the 2007 blast in the Dargah was carried out to “deter Hindus from going to the famous shrine.” Despite the loss of 3 valuable human lives, the plot didn’t achieve the purported goal. The present attempt of raising claims on the Dargah is to disrupt the communal harmony prevailing in the Dargah and divide the communities based on religious faith. It is the Hindu community that has to stand up against and resist the spiteful extremist fascist agenda to maintain peace in the country.
