1984 Sikh Genocide – The fight for justice is not over yet. Justice delayed is justice denied.
The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Delhi State participated in the public meeting held today at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, expressing deep condolences to the victims of the 1984 Sikh Genocide and reiterating the demand for justice. The party stated that this massacre remains a permanent stain on India’s democratic and humanitarian values and can never be forgotten.
SDPI Delhi State emphasized that all justice-loving and democratic forces must unite against state-sponsored communal violence, political terror, and atrocities on innocent citizens. The party also called for the repeal of draconian laws like UAPA and NSA, terming them a threat to democracy and civil liberties.
Delhi State President Mueed Hashmi said that the politics of division on the basis of religion and caste by those in power is extremely dangerous for the unity and democracy of the country. He urged that true patriots must reject hate politics and raise their voices for justice, peace, and equality. He appealed to all citizens to strengthen brotherhood and humanity instead of hatred.
SDPI Delhi State reaffirmed that the party will always stand against oppression and with every victim of injustice. The struggle for justice, equality, and the protection of democracy will continue.
