Ram Mandir Fund Fraud Allegations Expose the Real Motive Behind the Politicisation of Faith
The allegations of financial irregularities in the management of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust raise serious concerns about transparency and accountability. Allegations of misuse of 5000 crore rupees, reports of missing cash, jewellery and valuables from donation collections, and the ongoing SIT investigation demand a fair and independent probe. The questioning of more than a hundred individuals and reported recoveries of around 2 crore rupees in cash and gold ornaments highlight serious concerns regarding oversight. Contributions made by millions of devotees in the name of faith must be managed with complete transparency.
The controversy must also be viewed in the context of the political use of religious sentiments for power and financial interests. The campaign around the Ram Mandir issue contributed to communal polarisation and the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992, challenging secular values, constitutional principles and the rule of law. This episode should become an eye opener for all true believers to reflect on how faith is used in politics. Accountability must prevail above political interests.
