Technical Errors Should Not Cause to Deny Aadhaar Linked Services
Hembrom from Jharkhand and Oram from Odisha stand testimony to the failure of the authorities to ensure a solution for biometric mismatch in Aadhaar-linked services.88-year-old farmer Hembrom was denied his food ration as several attempts to verify his Aadhaar identity using the fingerprint failed. Sukra Oram, 83, an Adivasi in Odisha, also faced the same fate to receive her old age pension of Rs 1,200. There’s no solution for this error yet. It’s the lower stratum of society that always bears the brunt of technical errors.
