Elyas Muhammad Thumbe

National General Secretary

“Wakf properties are not merely a part of the Muslim community’s heritage but an essential asset for society at large. It is the moral duty of every conscious Muslim to protect these properties. Ensuring the protection of Wakf boards is a crucial step toward upholding social justice,” stated SDPI National General Secretary, Elias Muhammad Thumbe. He was addressing the press conference held on 5th January 2025 at the SDPI West Bengal state committee office to address the Wakf Amendment Bill and the communal remarks made by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari. On the topic of “One Nation, One Election,” Thumbe said, “The BJP’s attempt to undermine democracy will never succeed.

The entire nation will unite and, if necessary, embark on a second freedom struggle to protect the Constitution.”SDPI State President, Tayidul Islam, strongly criticised Suvendu Adhikari’s communal rhetoric, stating, “Suvendu Adhikari is conspiring to destroy the communal harmony of Bengal. The recent incidents in Murshidabad are a direct result of his inflammatory speeches, which aim to incite violence and extremism among his supporters. The state government must take strict action against him before it is too late.”The press conference was attended by SDPI National Secretary Faisal Izzuddin, State General Secretary Hakikul Islam and other state leaders. The party reiterated its commitment to peace and harmony in Bengal and across the nation.
