SDPI SUPPORTS FARMERS AGITATIONS

New Delhi, 24th May 2021: Social Democratic Party of India extends its full support to the call given by the Samyuktha Kisan Morcha (SKM) to observe a nationwide agitation as ‘Black Day for Democracy’ on May 26 that marks the completion of six months of the farmers struggle.  SDPI National President M.K. Faizy said the party cadres and leaders will demonstrate placards and posters with black flags in their houses and locality on that day and will do social media campaign  in support of the farmers agitation.

Faizy said, the BJP Government at the centre is hectic on facilitating Corporate Companies to plunder wealth and resources of this nation at the cost of lives of farmers and labours. The farmers are agitating since last six months mainly with two demands of repeal of contentious farm laws and legal entitlement to Minimum Support Price (MSP). Despite the death of more than 500 farmers in the agitation due to extreme weather condition, the BJP government has not bothered to hear and realize the demands of the farmers.  The BJP government’s disregard towards farmers and playing dilly dallying tactics and tricks of dialogues with farmer leaders with adamant and obdurate stand and policies is a slur on Indian politics and administration.

Faizy said farmers interests must be protected as they are the backbones of the entire humanity. Nevertheless, BJP’s attitude of arrogance and slyness towards farmer’s agitation is highly condemnable.   SDPI warns the Union BJP government that there will be serious consequences in the country if the government will not fulfil the demands of the farmers.
