SDPI Demands Prosecution of Western Citizens Fighting in Gaza’s Genocidal War
The Social Democratic Party of India strongly condemns the disclosure that more than fifty thousand foreign passport holders are serving in the ranks of the Israeli military. This revelation is not an isolated or marginal development but clear evidence of the deep complicity of powerful nations whose citizens are participating in what a growing number of international observers describe as a deliberate genocidal assault on the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Official data released by the Israeli authorities in response to a freedom of information request confirms that over fifty thousand personnel hold foreign passports alongside Israeli citizenship. This includes more than thirteen thousand from the United States, over six thousand from France, more than two thousand from the United Kingdom, and thousands from Germany, Russia, Ukraine, and other countries. These figures represent individuals who have taken part in a war that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians, most of them women and children, and devastated entire communities.
The silence of governments that claim to uphold international law and human rights exposes stark hypocrisy. Western states that swiftly prosecuted citizens who joined armed groups in Syria now ignore participation in military actions widely accused of mass killings, starvation, and collective punishment. This selective application of justice reveals that international law is treated not as a universal standard but as a political instrument.
The Social Democratic Party of India reiterates its unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and the Palestinian right to self determination. The scale of foreign participation demonstrates that the assault on Palestinians is sustained by international protection and indifference.
We call upon the governments of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and all other concerned nations to immediately investigate their citizens serving in Israeli forces and prosecute anyone responsible for violations of international humanitarian law under domestic and universal jurisdiction. Military cooperation and arms transfers must cease until Israel complies with international law, ends occupation, and recognises Palestinian rights.
