SDPI Demands Immediate Stay on Demolition of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Dr. Nizamuddin Khan, State President of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Uttar Pradesh, has condemned the demolition proceedings initiated by the Rampur Development Authority against Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, calling them politically motivated due to its association with senior leader Azam Khan. He said any technical or administrative irregularities should be addressed through existing legal provisions, including compounding fees and penalties, rather than demolition.

Dr. Nizamuddin Khan said demolishing an educational institution jeopardizes the future of thousands of students and should never be the first course of action. He questioned whether similar action would be taken against thousands of other buildings with alleged construction violations across Uttar Pradesh, stressing that the law must be enforced uniformly. SDPI urged the Allahabad High Court to take suo motu cognizance and immediately stay the demolition proceedings to ensure a fair judicial process.
