Jaipur, Sunday, 11 December, 2022: Mincing no words, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) today announced to contest elections in as many Assembly constituencies as possible alone or in alliance with other secular parties across the country. This was assreted by M. K. Faizy, national president of SDPI in a media get together in Jaipur at the end of a two-days national working committee meeting on Sunday, 11 December. Faizy said that both the country and the Constitution are under threat and the so-called political parties have failed to play the role of Opposition to counter the ruling BJP which is selling out national assets one after the other.
The leader said that instead of providing jobs to the youth and food to millions of children dying with malnutrition, the BJP is busy introducing and passing bills on Uniform Civil Code and Waqf lands to further push the country to crises. There is a competition between BJP, Congress, AAP and other parties to occupy power instead of fighting to save the Constitution, he said.
Mohammad Rizwan Khan, Rajasthan state president of SDPI lambasted the Congress government of Rajasthan stating that Congress is busy in infights and has no time to fulfill the promises it had made to the peaple, especially the farmers. He informed that a Social Democratic Alliance will contest elections against both Congress and BJP. He further said that so far four political parties have entered the alliance and more parties are approaching to forge a formidable alliance against Congress and BJP.
In answer to a question, Faizy said that SDPI has made all the preparations and its workers and volunteers are ready to cooperate with its alliance partners to defeat the fascist forces and do everything to protect the Indian democracy. He said that people need to fight with more vigour to protect the freedom so hard earned by the freedom fighters.Yasmin Farouqui, national general secretary also spoke.
