
The horrendous news reports coming out daily from various parts of the country underscore the Genocide Watch prediction that Indian Muslims are in the final stage of genocide by the right-wing Hindutva extremists. The Congress-ruled states too have started following the Sangh Parivar path of targeting Muslims. In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, communal violence has resulted in significant destruction, with scores of Muslim homes and businesses being ravaged during the violence. In the aftermath of the killing of a youth, tensions between communities escalated rapidly, leading to targeted attacks on properties owned by the Muslim community.UK-based The Guardian reports that with the introduction of a controversial policy requiring eateries to publicly display the names of all employees, several Muslims have reported job losses and the potential closure of their businesses. This mandate was first implemented in Uttar Pradesh by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and recently, the Congress party in Himachal Pradesh announced it would also make it compulsory for all names of workers and employees to be put on display. This discriminatory order is being implemented despite the Supreme Court blocking the separate order requiring restaurants along a pilgrimage route to display owners’ names, labelling it discriminatory.Seemingly aiming a deliberate provocation, Path Sanchalan, an RSS parade, passed through a Muslim-majority area for the first time sparking tensions in Ratnagiri this Dussehra, worsening the harmony and peace in the area.Tensions escalated in Telangana’s Secunderabad early Monday following an alleged act of vandalism at the Muthyalamma temple, which ignited widespread anger and protests among locals. Police have not disclosed the name of the culprit. Those who are dutybound to maintain law and order and peace in the respective states are according silent nod, and full encouragement to some extent, in such cases of violence against Muslims. The onus of protecting the country and maintaining peace and harmony seems to be now on the shoulders of the non-communal lot of the country.
