Police Fascism Is the New Trend Under the Delhi Regime

It is shocking and deeply disturbing that the Delhi Police allegedly detained and assaulted two journalists, Shaheen Khan and Nafeesa Khan, who were reportedly slapped and beaten inside the police station and subjected to communal remarks.

The alleged police excesses reportedly occurred after the journalists attempted to question Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at an event attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

However, the Saket Police Station has reportedly refused to register an FIR against the police personnel accused of these criminal acts.

Such police fascism under the behest of the Delhi regime is highly condemnable. This incident raises serious concerns about the safety and freedom of journalists who seek to question those in power. If journalists cannot question the government without facing intimidation and alleged police assault, it poses a serious threat to democracy and freedom of the press.

An FIR must be registered immediately, and the police personnel responsible for this heinous act must be suspended pending a fair and impartial investigation.
