Resolution No. 4
Demolition of Places of Worship and Minority Houses is a Violation of Human and Fundamental Rights
The National Working Committee of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) strongly condemns the demolition and bulldozing of places of worship and houses belonging to minority communities under the guise of encroachment removal or legal construction. Such actions are a denial of human rights and fundamental rights, and they create fear and insecurity among minorities, especially Muslims in India.
The Committee observes that the systematic demolition and ghettoization of minorities is part of the hate agenda of the regime and is contrary to the constitutional values of justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity. The religious places particularly Masjids, Dargahs and churches attacked and even removed under excuse of security by the regime in several states ins condemned. SDPI urges that an independent commission be appointed to assess the damages and to restore or recompensate the losses.
Places of worship and homes are not merely structures; they are integral to the dignity, identity, and security of communities. Therefore, the National Working Committee of the Social Democratic Party of India resolves that the Government of India must immediately stop all unlawful demolitions, ensure protection of places of worship and homes of minorities, and take strict action against those responsible for targeting minority communities. The Government must uphold the constitutional rights of all citizens and guarantee safety, dignity, and equal justice for every community.
