SDPI West Bengal State Secretariat Meeting Held in Kolkata in the Presence of National President M. K. Faizy

The West Bengal State Secretariat Meeting of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) was held at the State Office in Kolkata in the presence of National President M. K. Faizy. National Secretaries Ya Mahiuddin and Tayebul Islam, along with State Incharge Dr. Mahabob Sharif, were also present. The meeting reviewed the prevailing political situation in West Bengal and the party’s organisational activities, with detailed discussions on strengthening the organisational structure, expanding public outreach, and planning programmes for the coming days. Several key organisational decisions were taken to make the party’s future activities more dynamic and effective.

National President M. K. Faizy expressed serious concern over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process across the country, stating that SDPI has raised concerns over the process from the outset. Referring to allegations raised against Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, he demanded his resignation and called for the immediate restoration of voting rights to genuine voters who have been deprived of their franchise through the SIR process. He further demanded that those responsible for the difficulties faced by ordinary citizens be identified and held accountable, with appropriate legal action against Gyanesh Kumar and others concerned. He said, “When such serious questions are being raised about the functioning of the Election Commission, public trust must not be sacrificed under any circumstances.”
