
Tamil Nadu SDPI’s 9th Awards Ceremony – Honoring Outstanding Personalities
The Tamil Nadu unit of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) organized its 9th Awards Ceremony to honor exceptional individuals for their remarkable contributions. The event, held on September 5, 2025, at Faiz Mahal in Egmore, Chennai, celebrated personalities who have made significant impacts in various fields, continuing a tradition of recognition that has been upheld for the past nine years.
The ceremony was presided over by ASA Umar Farooq, Vice President of Tamil Nadu SDPI. The chief guest, Selvaperunthagai, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President and esteemed MLA, delivered a congratulatory address. Jagath Gaspar, organizer of Tamil Maiyyam, also participated and extended his felicitations.
Nellai Mubarak, State President of SDPI, presented awards to the distinguished recipients.
The awardees included:

- Dr. Ambedkar Award: Advocate Ku. Bharathi
- Kamarajar Award: Dr. Sultanul Arifin, Chairman of Arifa Educational Group
- Mother Teresa Award: Dr. Pon. Gautham Sigamani, former Kallakurichi MP
- Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad Award: Mohammed Ashraf, President of the Muslim Educational Institutions and Associations
- Sayeed Sahib Award: Amjad Basha, Dharmapuri SDPI District President
- Palani Baba Award: U. Thaniyarasu, former MLA
- B.S.Abdur Rahman Award: Dr. Abul Kalam, Chairman of Fareeda Group
- Kavi Ka.Mu.Sheriff Award: M.M. Deen, writer from Nellai
The event saw enthusiastic participation from over a thousand attendees, including SDPI party officials, volunteers, representatives from various organizations, political party leaders, and the general public.
