SDPI Marks Anti-Fascist Day at West Bengal State Office on Babri Masjid Demolition Anniversary

6 December 2025, Kolkata:
On the 33rd anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) observed Anti-Fascist Day across the country through a series of programmes. Like every year, the party organised poster campaigns, social media outreach, public meetings, and various commemorative events. This year’s theme described the day as “33 Years of Historic Betrayal.”

In West Bengal, a get-together programme was held at the SDPI State Office to mark the occasion. The event was attended by State Vice-President Abdul Quaiyum Khan, Treasurer Md. Aftab Alam, State Committee Member Md. Asadullah, Kolkata District President Dr. Sahid Anwar, General Secretary Akhtar Hossain, South 24 Parganas District President Shahajada Molla, District General Secretary Monirul Molla, along with other leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Abdul Qaiyum Khan highlighted the evolution of fascism and its influence in contemporary India. Md. Asadullah presented a detailed account of the Babri Masjid demolition, asserting: “There is no historical or archaeological evidence that a temple was demolished to construct the Babri Masjid. Yet the Supreme Court delivered its judgment based solely on ‘faith’. This injustice is not merely an attack on a mosque, but on the Constitution and democracy of India. That is why we remember 6 December as a Day of Betrayal.
