The National Secretariat of the Social Democratic Party of India convened on February 6 and 7 at the Central Office in Delhi and passed the following resolution:

Unprecedented increase of missing persons in India is alarming

It is shocked to hear that there were 2475 cases of missing persons in Delhi in Jan 2026 wherein most of the persons were women. According to NCRB report that 4,84,584 persons were missing in 2023 in which 3,24,763 women and 91,296 were children. Though 95% of the cases were recovered, the rest 5% of the cases unrecovered which effected to more than 25000 persons every year. Children and women trafficking, Begger mafia, bonded labour etc, were behind in most of these cases.

This National Secretariate meeting of SDPI resolve that the government has to constitute special department within the Home Ministry to curtail this menace so that an atmosphere of peace and safe to entire women and children in the country can be established.
