In Gaza, it is a Move for an Imperialist Takeover
with no Space for its People

The Gaza peace proposal, produced at the White House meeting between the United States President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a cynical move to impose their imperialist designs on the people of gaza at gun point. Trump has put himself as the chief of the future reconstruction of Gaza with former British prime minister Tony Blair as his resident agent in the region. Netanyahu has happily acceded to these proposals as it absolves him of any responsibility for the wanton destruction he and his extremely rightwing colleagues in the Israeli Government have caused in the region in the past two years.

Trump has given an ultimatum to Hamas, which had been running an elected administration in Gaza, to accept his proposals or face anther round of massive bombings and total obliteration of the people of Gaza. They have genocide on their sights, so that they could free up the homeland of Palestinian people to be converted as their playground.

It is an extremely cynical project, for which Trump is expecting a Nobel peace prize as a reward! It is laughable, if not for the terrible human sufferings both these individuals have wreaked on the Palestinian people. Trump has supported every nasty moves made by Netanyahu in the past, and he continues to do so unmindful of the world’s public opinion.

The official response of Hamas is not known, but according to informed sources, they are unlikely to accept these proposals. The proposals do not offer anything to the people of Gaza, except a temporary ceasefire which Netanyahu could break at any time of his convenience. He has been continuing the war on the people of Gaza for the past two years despite the massive pubic agitations in every part of the world and also in Israel demanding an end to the genocidal war.

So it is not unrealistic to expect anything good to come out of the present proposals, put forward by the aggressors and their allies. The Hamas or even the Palestinian Authority led by Mahmoud Abbas were never consulted during the discussions, and Qatar, a sovereign country which has been the mediator in the truce talks, was rewarded with deadly Israeli missiles into its ow territory.

Trump had made clear his ideas for the future of Gaza, which is to drive out its people and convert it into a tourist spot for the wealthy westerners. This is what imperialist powers had done in Asia, Africa and other places in the past, and they still have such dreams even in the post- colonial era. It shows imperialism has never changed and it is unlikely to change ever. They will have to be confronted by the people of the world to safeguard their lands, life and dignity.

It is interesting to note that Trump has found an ally in Tony Blair, who was one of the architects of the assault on Iraq and its total destruction two decades ago. He encouraged the spreading the myth of weapons of mass destruction Saddam Husain was supposed to to keep in his country threatening the safety of the world, giving an alibi for the attack. After the war, the world public could see that this was simply untrue as they could not find any such weapons in Iraq. But by the time, the great country had been totally destroyed, its great wealth and historical and cultural artifacts plundered and its leader Saddam Husain murdered after a kangaroo trial. So no wonder Trump found Blair an excellent ally in Gaza, considering his past record in Iraq!
