BM Kamble Slams Sinha’s Admission, Demands Shah, LG Resign for Pahalgam Security Lapse

BM Kamble, National Vice President of the Social Democratic Party of India, demands the immediate resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha for their gross failure in ensuring the safety of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, as starkly demonstrated by the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, 2025.

The attack, which claimed 26 innocent lives, was a glaring security lapse under the direct oversight of the Union Home Ministry and the Lieutenant Governor’s administration. LG Sinha’s admission of “full responsibility” on July 14, 2025, after 83 days of silence, is a belated and inadequate response that fails to address the systemic failures enabling this tragedy in a vital tourist hub. The National Investigation Agency’s ongoing probe, launched on April 23, 2025, underscores the severity of this failure, yet no meaningful accountability has been enforced.

The Modi-led government, under Amit Shah’s leadership, has repeatedly dodged responsibility for security breakdowns across India, including in Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir. The centralized governance model, post-Article 370 revocation, has sidelined local voices, exacerbating vulnerabilities and undermining public trust. Shah’s oversight of the Home Ministry, responsible for Jammu and Kashmir’s security, makes him directly accountable for this catastrophe.
