We express our deepest sorrow at the passing of Dr. Mohammad Manzoor Alam, Chairman of the Institute of Objective Studies (IOS) and Secretary General of the All India Milli Council, whose demise marks an irreparable loss to the community, the academic world, and the nation at large.

Dr. Manzoor Alam was a visionary scholar, institution-builder, and tireless advocate of education, research, and social justice. Through his leadership of the Institute of Objective Studies, he made pioneering contributions to fundamental and applied research, encouraging objective inquiry into social realities, minority issues, and developmental challenges. Under his guidance, IOS emerged as a respected platform for scholars, intellectuals, and policymakers, fostering dialogue grounded in knowledge, ethics, and empirical understanding.

One of Dr. Alam’s most enduring legacies was his commitment to bridge-building in education. He consistently worked to connect traditional learning with modern disciplines, advocating for the modernization of madrasas while preserving their moral and intellectual foundations. His efforts helped promote curricular reforms, scientific temper, and engagement with contemporary knowledge systems, empowering generations of students to participate confidently in national life.

As Secretary General of the All India Milli Council, Dr. Manzoor Alam played a crucial role in articulating community concerns, strengthening democratic participation, and promoting unity, moderation, and constitutional values. He believed firmly that progress could only be achieved through education, dialogue, and constructive engagement with society at large.

Dr. Manzoor Alam’s life was marked by humility, intellectual rigor, and an unwavering commitment to the ideals of justice, inclusivity, and national development. While his passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, his ideas, institutions, and contributions will continue to inspire future generations.
