Vijayawada, 22/09/2025: Amid the ongoing national debate over the credibility of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner Neelam Sahni’s decision to conduct the upcoming local body elections through EVMs has drawn concern from political parties. In this regard, a delegation of SDPI state leaders met with Sahni, urging that elections be conducted through ballot papers instead, to ensure transparency, security, and public confidence. A formal representation was submitted, and Sahni assured the matter would be placed before the committee. The delegation included SDPI State President Abdullah Khan, Vice President Hafiz Ataullah Khan, and General Secretary Mohammad Gani.
