SDPI Demands Judicial Probe into Massive Voter Fraud in 2024 Lok Sabha Elections
Mohammad Shafi, National Vice President, Social Democratic Party of India expresses profound anguish and unequivocal condemnation of the alleged large-scale voter fraud in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, as exposed by Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi. We view these revelations not as mere procedural lapses but as a calculated, organized assault on India’s democratic framework, tantamount to booth capturing, rigging, and political thuggery. The SDPI asserts that the Election Commission of India, constitutionally mandated to ensure free and fair elections, has failed to uphold its impartiality, raising grave concerns about its role in facilitating this subversion of democracy.
Evidence from Karnataka’s Mahadevapura Assembly segment, within Bangalore Central, uncovers a staggering 1,00,250 fraudulent votes that likely secured the BJP’s victory by a narrow 32,707-vote margin. This includes 11,965 duplicate voters, 40,009 unverifiable addresses (e.g., commercial properties like breweries listed as residences), 10,452 voters bulk-registered at single addresses, 4,132 invalid voter photos, and 33,692 misuses of Form 6 for voter registration, as revealed through a meticulous six-month Congress analysis of 6.5 lakh voter entries. Evidence of voters registered multiple times across polling booths with distinct EPIC numbers and elderly individuals listed as new voters twice within months points to deliberate manipulation. Similar irregularities in Maharashtra, with 1 crore new voters added between the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections suggests a nationwide pattern of electoral malpractice.
The ECI’s refusal to release machine-readable voter data for over a decade and CCTV footage, coupled with its dismissive response to Gandhi’s claims, erodes public trust in its integrity. The ECI’s claim of transparent voter roll access is hollow, given that only eight election petitions were filed under the Representation of the People Act, 1950, reflecting inadequate legal recourse for addressing such fraud. The SDPI condemns this as a betrayal of the constitutional principle of free and fair elections, amounting to a crime against India’s democracy.
The SDPI demands an immediate Supreme Court-monitored judicial inquiry into these allegations to investigate the electoral process in all affected constituencies. We call for exemplary punishment for any ECI officials or politicians found complicit in this subversion. Furthermore, we urge re-elections in constituencies tainted by fraud to restore public trust. We support Gandhi’s demand for digital voter data to enable rapid, independent verification, as manual scrutiny is impractical for 97 crore voters.
The SDPI pledges to mobilize democratic forces and public opinion across India to resist this criminalization of the electoral system. We call on all citizens to join protests demanding accountability and a nationwide voter roll audit to ensure the sanctity of the democratic process. India, as the world’s largest democracy, cannot tolerate such orchestrated fraud that undermines the will of its people.
