Relentless monsoon rains have triggered severe flooding across several districts of Kerala, disrupting normal life and forcing thousands of families to seek shelter in relief camps. Government agencies, disaster response teams, and community volunteers are working round the clock to evacuate stranded residents and provide emergency assistance in the affected areas.

Amid the crisis, SDPI volunteer teams have been carrying out extensive relief and rescue operations across flood-hit regions, particularly in Kottayam. Volunteers have been helping evacuate stranded families, transporting elderly and sick persons to hospitals, distributing food, drinking water and other essential supplies, assisting at relief camps, and coordinating with local authorities to support affected communities. Their sustained humanitarian efforts have become a vital source of assistance for flood-affected families during the ongoing emergency.
