Protect Schools from Violence and Political Intimidation
The Social Democratic Party of India strongly condemns the assault on the principal of Bharat Chandra High School, Perkit, Nizamabad, following the controversy over the alleged introduction of Urdu classes. If there were any violations of educational regulations, they should have been addressed through the competent authorities. Violence, intimidation, and vigilantism have no place in educational institutions. Equally condemnable are the attempts by right wing groups to spread unverified communal allegations and inflame public sentiment before the facts have been been established.
The Telangana Government must take stringent action against those responsible for the assault and ensure a fair, transparent, and impartial investigation into the entire incident. It must prevent the communalisation of educational issues for political gain, protect teachers and educational institutions from intimidation, and uphold the rule of law, constitutional values, and communal harmony.
