Bangalore 8 April 2017: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has launched a countrywide campaign with the slogan “Unite Against the Politics of Terror” aimed at creating awareness among the masses about the prevailing feeling of fear and insecurity among the minority communities, backward classes and weaker sections, particularly Muslims and Dalits.

In a veiled attack the party president A Sayeed lashed out at Congress, said the incumbent governments helped grow and spread the fascist elements which have captured the throne today with their might applied in electoral polarization by means of hardcore communalism. Sayeed urged the youth to prepare for another freedom struggle. Sayeed gave a call of unity to all the secular groups, social organizations, political parties with secular credentials, like minded intellectuals, progressive thinkers and individuals to come on a common minimum program and not only fight out the fascist forces but also defeat them in the next electoral process.
Moulana Sajjad Nomani, Member All India Muslim Personal Law Board, expressed happiness over SDPI’s initiative of conducting such a campaign nationwide, said this the best time that SDPI has chalked out a campaign to take on the criminal elements in the society who are as id enjoying killing and rioting across the country with impunity. He expressed hope that such Democratic struggles by SDPI will certainly bring about a change in the years to come and rewrite India’s beautiful history wherein everyone would be treated equally and live in harmony. Moulana Nomani stressed the SDPI leadership on conducting a mass movement against the EVM machines’ tampering in elections as these machines are not only vulnerable to tampering but are widely used in most of the elections since 2009.
Popular Front State President Mohammed Saqib also spoke on the occasion. SDPI National Vice President Adv Sharfussin Ahamad, SDPI Karnataka Vice President Devanoor Puttananjaiah, Moulana Imran Masood Bangalore and other prominent dignitaries addressed the massive gathering at Ambedkar Bhavan in Bangalore. Karnataka State President Abdul Hannan welcomed the guests.
