25 Nov 2016, New Delhi: National President of Social Democratic Party of India A. Sayeed announced his party’s full support to the Bharat Bandh on November 28 called by the united opposition against demonetization and participate in the joint struggle. He said, since the central government is in no mood to hear the dissent voice against its anti-people and anti-development midnight demonetization being imposed on the people of the country without any means and preparation, the ‘bandh’ is an ultimatum to remind the government to introspect and to set itself right towards pro-people and pro-democratic governance.
Demonetization has disrupted the normal life of common people, tumbling down the GDP of the nation, compelled the manpower to spend their precious hours in long queues under anxiety, causing huge loss to the agriculture, trade and commerce and pushing back the economy of the nation. SDPI President Sayeed urged the central government to withdraw the ‘destructive demonetization’ immediately.
SDPI has been agitating against this ‘destructive demonetization’ since its inception and will continue its struggle against such anti-democratic and anti-development moves by the vested interests including the government.
