SDPI Sends Letters to United Nations Secretary General and OIC Secretary General

Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), National President MK Faizy sent letters to the UN Secretary General and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General, appealing them to immediately take initiative and involve in resolving the present escalation of war like situation by Israel in the Middle East.

The present deteriorating situation in the area is the result of the illegal settlers trying to evict the Palestinian residents at Shaik Jarrah in Jerusalem with the help of Israel police. The UN itself has warned the planned expulsions could amount to “war crimes.” As a continuation of these skirmishes Israel police resorted to firing rubber bullets at the worshippers who had gathered at the Aqsa Mosque on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. Hamas retaliated to this violence and Israel started bombing Gazza taking away many valuable human lives.

It is in this situation that SDPI appealed the international bodies to intervene in the issue to end carnage.

“Many human lives have been lost in the ceaseless atrocities of Israel and it seems that they would never put an end to their genocidal policies unless the international community strongly gets involved in the issue and bridle them and ensure the Palestine people get justice and peace,” stated the letter.
