SDPI PRESIDENT FAIZY PLEADS FOR PEACE POST BABRI VERDICT

New Delhi, 7th Nov 2019: The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), has appealed that since “Unity in Diversity” has been the hallmark of the nation then as such the impending verdict of the Supreme Court in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhumi many decades old case should be accepted by one and all whole-heartedly without any ifs or buts.

SDPI national president M. K. Faizy in a statement reposing faith in higher judiciary and hoped that the verdict would be delivered based on facts and records. While remaining committed to justice, it is the responsibility of all sections of society to uphold the rule of law and sanctity of judiciary. Stressing that irrespective of the nature of the top court’s ruling there should neither be a day of celebrations or that of mourning when the judgment is announced. Those who win should not get over-excited and the same goes for those who end up on the losing side. It should not be seen as victory or defeat, he added.

Faizy earnestly hoped that all concerned people will display commitment to strengthen and protect the fabric of the socio-communal harmony, brotherhood and unity of the country under all circumstances after the verdict is declared. He said that people should not make provocative statements and appealed for being careful on social media. Today the economics of the country is so bad, if things go wrong and the people enter into any kind of communal disturbance, the economy will be very badly shattered, he apprehended. As such he pleaded one and all to maintain all round peace post Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhumi judgement.

Meanwhile, the statement stated: “The demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992 by sheer vandalism was an assault on the very foundations of our nation as a secular and democratic republic. There were also recent attempts from communal forces to intimidate lawyers and litigants involved in the case. Now, it is the hope of the nation that the issue will have a peaceful and permanent settlement with the forthcoming Supreme Court verdict and it will open a new era of coexistence and inclusiveness in the country”.
