New Delhi, 17 June 2017: Social Democratic Party of India conducted an “Iftaar Get Together” on 16th June 2017 at India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi. Many Renowned Journalists, Social & Human Rights Activists, Intellectuals, Community and Political leaders participated in the program.

While addressing the gathering, prominent veteran journalist and writer Kuldip Nayyar said, ‘Muslims have got all rights as citizens of India like any other communities in the country. They need not feel insecure or inferior. Muslims are now in a mood of defense which they should avoid. They should come forward into the leading role in our politics. We will have to work to bring up our India where the whole country would be a single community”.

Social Democratic Party of India National President A. Sayeed, gave the ‘Ramadan Message’ and said, the message coming out from the whole world is not auspicious. Countries are in a mood of war mongering. Our country is also giving the same message of hatred. Armed forces in the world are now close friends of our nation at present. Unhealthy situation prevailing in India is a result of nearly 100 years of planning and efforts. But, we can overcome the situation and uproot communalism and hatred only if we are ready to work sincerely for the basic principles of democracy and secularism’.

SDPI Vice President Adv. Sharfuddin Ahamad, welcomed the guests. SDPI Gen. Secretaries M.K. Faizy, Mohammad Shafi, Elyas Muhammad, Women India Movement national President Yasmin Farouqui, Popular Front of India North Zone Secretaries Anees Ansari and Shafiulla, PFI Delhi President Parvez Ahmad,  Rajya Sabha member K.C.
