REVIEW PETITONS OF SDPI AND OTHERS CHALLENGING BABRI MASJID VERDICT ARE LISTED BEFORE THE CHIEF JUSTICE OF INDIA AT 1:40 P.M ON 12TH OF DECEMBER 2019

New Delhi: 12 December 2019Social Democratic Party of India in furtherance of decision of the National Secretariat filed a review petition in the Hon’ Supreme Court on 9th of Dec 2019. The petition was filed by the party Vice President, Adv Sharfuddin Ahmad. The main grounds of the petition are that the judgement and order dated 8th Nov. 2019 passed by Hon’ Supreme Court in Babri Masjid case were illegal and needed to be reviewed on the ground that it is unconstitutional and self-contradictory in itself. The order is based not on facts and evidence of the case but on faith. The addenda to the judgement is new and an unprecedented act and is against the findings of the court. The operative portion/order is contradictory with the findings reached by the court. The order is defective on the ground that it tacitly supports the principle of two-nation theory dividing Indians into two separate communities where the majority community has been granted superior rights.

All the review petitions filed by the parties before the Supreme Court have been put into two categories. The review petitions filed by contesting parties in the Suit and in SLP have been put into separate category numbering eight review petitions while the petitions of third parties including Social Democratic Party of India are put into a separate category of third parties.

Review petitions filed by Mr Anis Ahmad, D.C Kapil and some other intellectuals and activists are also included in tomorrow’s list of Supreme Court.

All the eighteen review petitions have been listed before the bench for hearing at 1:40 p.m. on 12th December 2019.

After the retirement of Chief Justice, Mr Ranjan Gagoi, the Constituion Bench is  headed by the new Chief Justice Mr Sharad Arvind Bobde and it includes the new Hon’ Judge Mr Sanjeev Khanna too.
