End The Disgusting Political Drama In Rajasthan – SDPI

Mohamed Shafi, national general secretary of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) deplored the horse-trading by BJP and asked both Congress and BJP to put an end to the disgusting political drama in Rajasthan

Democracy has been put on ventilator in India since assumption of power by Modi and team in 2014. All democratic systems are being subjected to mercy-killing by the extreme right-wing fascists in power. Rajasthan is the latest state in the list of undemocratic political horse-trading by BJP.

Democratically elected legislators are bought for huge sum and the Congress governments are being toppled by BJP. The have successfully executed this dirty business in Karanataka and Madhya Pradesh.

It is a pity that MLAs of high stature from the century old Congress party fail to resist the enticing offers from BJP. Their personal ambitions override the interest of the county and the people. BJP actually is pulling out the sailors seemingly from a sinking ship. Congress should ensure that the party is not totally undermined by BJP. There is no strong leadership for Congress capable of managing the crises.

The present issue of Sachin Pilot with Ashok Gehlot is not different from that of Jyotiraditya Scindia with Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh. Capable youngsters in Congress are being sidelined to tame the old-lions, and both in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan that is the reason for the issues in the party.

SDPI requests Indian National Congress to reconstitute the party setup and ensure patriotic and pro-people leaders are brought at the helm to avoid total catastrophe in the party, and requests the youth leaders in the party to be more loyal to the country and the interest of the people at large than the personal ambitions to liberate the country from the clutches of the fascists.
