2019 LS Polls: Sdpi Extends Conditional Support to TDP in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada 07 April 2019: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) sent a delegation to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandra Babu Naidu. The delegation congratulated Chandra Babu Naidu for issuing a declaration that he would appoint a Muslim Deputy CM if his party comes to power.

SDPI leaders held a detailed discussion with the Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu on making joint efforts to stop fascist forces from coming to power at the Center.

On the occasion, the TDP Supremo sought support of SDPI and Popular Front for his party in the scheduled Parliament election. The Pan-India social organization Popular Front of India and Social Democratic Party of India have declared their support to the TDP under the following conditions:

The support would be extended to the Telugu Desham Party (TDP) in all the Assembly and Parliamentary Constituencies except Kurnool MP Constituency, and Assembly Constituencies Kurnool, Nandyal and Emmiganoor.
Post elections, the TDP shouldn’t go with NDA.
TDP should give due representation to minorities in governance, political appointments and also in state budget.
TDP should support and raise voice in the Parliament towards dealing with issues being faced by Muslims, Dalits and all other Marginalized Communities.

After the meeting, talking to the media persons Abdul Majeed said, we are a Cadre based party have considerable presence in several parts of Andhra Pradesh. He said, we have committed our support to the CM and would field our cadres and members on the ground to ensure that the TDP candidates be victorious.

The delegation was led by SDPI National General Secretary Abdul Majeed and it comprised of NWC Member Afsar pasha, Andhra Pradesh State VP Riyaz, GS Abdullah Khan, Popular Front Zonal Secretary Arif, PFI State President Maulana Subhan and State GS Abdul Latheef.
