Tippu Sultan was the rarest freedom warrior and a messenger of unity and equality – Abdul Majeed SDPI

Mysore 04 May 2017: On the occasion of 218th Martyrdom Day of the distinct soldier Tippu Sultan, SDPI Mysore District Unit organized “Hazrat Tippu Sultan’s Sacrifice Memorial Convention”, wherein prominent dignitaries were invited who addressed the audience in a packed auditorium in Mysore City.

The first half of the day a massive Blood Donation Camp was organized which was inaugurated by the President of Mysore Press Club Deepak. A total of about 300 party activists and participants donated blood on the occasion.

During the public meet organized, SDPI State Gen Secretary Abdul Majeed K said, Tippu Sultan was the rarest freedom warrior our nation ever witnessed, he was a peerless progressive administrator and a messenger of equality and unity and a great sacrificer who had impawned his children as security for our land. In the present socio-political scenario, every move of Tippu Sultan is truly memorable and ideal. With this ideal, it’s a duty of every patriotic Indian to create awareness in the society about and work towards implementation, said the SDPI leader.

On the same day, SDPI leaders accompanied by eminent dignitaries paid a visit to Srirangapatna Gumbaj and paid tributes to the martyred soldier by offering a ‘Chaader’ (grave covering) on his grave and offered prayers for peace and harmony.

On the occasion of the martyrdom day of Shaheed Tippu Sultan, SDPI State President Abdul Hannan, in a press statement said, Shaheed Tippu Sultan has set a historical example of sacrifice as he got martyred for our motherland while fighting in the battlefield. Abdul Hannan gave a call of unity to the leaders of various organisations and appealed to the people to follow the footsteps of the freedom warrior in order to regain the strings of power and hand over power to people so as to bring a total change in the rule which would serve the interests of the common people.

The program ‘Conference Remembering Sacrifice of Tippu Sultan’ which was organized at Safa Function Hall, was presided over by SDPI State Gen Secretary Abdul Majeed and was participated by SDPI State Vice President Devanooru Puttananjaiah, SDPI Mysore District President MF Kaleem, renowned journalist Gururaj of Hello Mysore, Dalit Welfare Association President Shantaraju, Shaikh-u-Hadith Mufti Tajuddin, SDPI State Secretary Afsar Kodlipete, Popular Front Mysore Dist. President Ameen Sait, SDPI District Gen Secretary Amjad Khan, SDPI Dist. Media Incharge Tabraiz Sait, SDPI’s public representatives in Mysore Municipal Corporation Swamy and Reshma Jabeen and heads of other social organizations.
