SDPI will be the Voice of Dalits, Muslims and all Oppressed – A Sayeed

Jaipur, 20 February 2018:  Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Rajasthan State Unit is running a state-wide campaign ‘Jal Raha Hai Rajasthan, So Rahi Hai Sarkar, Naakami ke Char Saal, JAGO RAJASTHAN’ [Rajasthan is Burning, The State Government is Slumbering and is Completely Failure on All Fronts, So, Rajasthan AWAKE]. As part of the campaign, the party’s state unit has been conducting massive public rallies, seminars, poster pasting, flyer distribution and several other publicity programs to awaken the people of the failure of the ruling BJP government in the state. Party’s National President A Sayeed took a delegation to different cities in Rajasthan to meet the victims of farmers who committed suicides for the loss of their crops, families of those who were brutally lynched and burnt and extended financial aid assuring them of the legal aid from the party aimed at seeking justice.

Speaking at a press conference held at Jaipur’s Pink City Press Club, SDPI National President A. Sayeed said, SDPI is the voice of Dalits, Muslims, farmers and backward classes. The party will always raise voice against injustice and work to ensure the rights of the deprived are not violated. He said that the farmers who have committed suicide with the burden of loans and those who have been brutally murdered in the name of Gau Raksha, till today, have neither received any compensation from the government nor justice. Which gives proof of the failure of the Rajasthan government. This shows how utter the government is failed in delivering its duties towards the victims of violence. Sayeed further said, SDPI will continue its fight in a democratic way to seek justice for the oppressed. He also assured that legal assistance will also be given to the victims.

The victims who have been visited by the delegation were, Umar Khan of Mewat, Tulasiram Jat of Bharatpur, Afrazul of Rajasmand, Zafar Khan of Pratapgarh, Bagdilal Rathod of Jhalwad and Sanjay Meena of Baraan, who were all victims of violence and farmers.

The delegation which visited victims of violence in various districts of Rajasthan comprised of National Vice President Adv. Sharfuddin Ahmad, General Secretary Mohammed Shafi, SDPI Secretary and Member All India Muslim Personal Law Board Yasmin Faruqui, National Committee Member Dr. Tasleem Rehmani, Rajasthan State Vice President Seetaram Khoival, State General Secretaries Ashfaq Hussain and Mohammed Haneef.
