Social Democratic Party of India, recently conducted a campaign to raise funds to extend help to the neighbouring country Nepal which was hit by high intensity earthquake causing destruction and loss of thousands of lives, ruining countless villages and collapse of century old monuments and innumerable residential and commercial buildings. A high level delegation comprising national leadership of the Party met the Ambassador of Royal Nepal at New Delhi and handed over to him a cheque of Rs. 15 lakh.

Expressing anguish over the unfortunate incident that rocked the little country Party National Vice President Adv Sharfuddin Ahmed told the embassy officials that, our party expresses grief over the calamitous and fateful incident and is with the people of Nepal by all means. The Party cadres from different states collected the funds from public and raised the amount to extend help to the victims of Nepal earthquake.

Party National General Secretary Mohammed Shafi said it’s a humble attempt being made on absolute humanity grounds which could be a little aid in rebuilding of the country. Rajasthan State President Hafiz Manzoor Ali Khan said the relationship between India and Nepal have been truly good and that such acts of benevolence will surely prove to be fruitful in enriching the relationship.
