New Delhi 01 July 2017: A high-level delegation of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) visited slain youth Junaid’s family and assured them with all possible support from the party.
The delegation was led by Party National Vice President Adv. Sharfuddin Ahmed, met brothers of late Junaid Shakir and Tausif, who have been suffering from severe injuries, after they were attacked by some communal goons in the train while travelling from Delhi to Haryana.
National General Secretary Muhammad Shafi said, we seriously condemn the fatal attack on the innocent youth, lynching one of the brothers mercilessly and injuring the rest, leaving them in a critical condition.
The victims’ family controverted the subject of the provision of a 10 lakh compensation from the Haryana government. The victim’s grieving mother said, all the news about the compensation is very incorrect and believably the media is carried away by some sort of rumors. She said, we heard the news only from the media and that no any official from the government ever visited us since the brutal murder of my son has been reported.
Adv. Sharfuddin Ahmed said, the heinous incidents of mob violence have become a rage across the country since the BJP took over the reins at the Centre and in several states, including that of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. He said, the anger dissatisfaction is growing among the people of the shocking attack on innocent youth and the villagers are in fear. Sharfuddin slammed the Haryana Government for doing nothing in terms of law and order in the state and urged for a speedy investigation and arrest of the accused who actually stabbed the slain youth.
The party leaders demanded adequate compensation to the victims’ family immediately.
The party delegation comprised of Party Vice President Adv. Sharfuddin Ahmed, National General Secretary Muhammad Shafi, I.A. Khan, Naved Azeem, Irfan from Delhi and Sajid from Haryana.
