SDPI’s ELECTORAL PERFORMANCE:
Social Democratic Party of India has been actively participating in various elections across the country. The party has contested two general assembly elections and contested the Parliament Election 2014 by fielding a total of about 30 candidates in several states. SDPI has shown an impressive performance in the Local Body Elections and bagged a number of seats in different levels.

FURNISHED BELOW ARE THE METRICS SHOWING PARTY’S ELECTORAL PERFORMANCE IN THE RECENT YEARS: 

  • Currently we have a total of 241 elected local bodies’ representatives. Out of which 200 are gram panchayat members, 1 taluk panchayat, 2 town panchayat, 14 taluk municipal councilors, 15 city municipal councilors, 9 corporators out of which one is Chairman of health standing committee.
  • The total votes received in this year’s elections are 2,67,722 (Kerala – 1,27,570, Karnataka – 49,683(BBMP) and 71,823(GP), Bihar – 6694, Goa – 592, Rajasthan- 11,360)

KARNATAKA
Gram Panchayat Election: Contested in 375 wards, Secured 72 seats, 2nd places in 133, 3rd places 137 wards.
BBMP-B’lore Corporation: Contested in 18 wards, secured 49,683 votes (out of 3,30,188 votes polled i.e. 15.04% votes which is an increase of 4% from last BBMP elections), Won 1 seat from Siddapura Ward, secured 2nd places in 6 wards, secured 3rd place in 5 wards.

RAJASTHAN: Local Body Election [Municipal & Corporation]
Secured 4 seats, 2 in Baraan Municipality, 1 in Bundi and 1 in Begu Municipality.

KERALA:
In the November 2015 Local Body Election SDPI Contested in 1574 seats (7.19%) out of 21871. The Party won a total of 49 seats (i.e. Corporation-1, Municipalities-9, Panchayath-39). SDPI also bagged 110 second places and 432 third places. In the 2010 election we had only 11 members.

According to election commission release the party has bagged 1,27,570 votes which put us at 7th place in the state.
Total votes polled is 1,98,10,336 – i.e. SDPI bagged 0.64 % votes whereas we contested only in 7.19 % seats.
Out of 110 second places we lost 5 seats for less than 8 votes, 7 for in between 11-25, 17 for in between 26-50, 7 for 51-75 and 9 for 76-100 votes (Total 45).
